Wesley Foundation, at the University of Washington
Wesley Club is an open, welcoming campus ministry that fosters relationships, encourages spiritual exploration, and facilitates community service. We strive to create a fun and supportive environment for students to journey together, as they ask questions, delve into profound issues of faith, and seek to make meaning in their lives. Recognizing the sacred worth of each individual, we have declared ourselves to be a reconciling community, (one of the first in the nation!), committed to creating space where everyone is welcome, regardless of creed, race, political alignment, or sexual orientation. Drop by and check us out on the web, or in person, at one of our community dinners, worship services, Bible studies, or special events, when you come to the UW!

This includes UMeth, our UMC student club, as well as managing a wide range of programs, services, and resources for the campus multifaith community. We offer frequent lectures, programs, events, and a weekly Sunday Night Chapel that is primarily student led. Our UMC students also maintain a high level of involvement in connectional programs such as Exploration and Student Forum. An important element of our program is leadership development. The University offers religious leadership awards ranging from $3,000-$20,000. These include general awards, Methodist-specific awards, scholarships for individuals considering or exploring professional religious leadership, and a strong peer ministry mentorship program in which students work 4-8 hours/week for SSSJ implementing projects and programs. In addition, SSSJ is deeply engaged in helping students participate in community service and reflect on paths to advocate for social justice based on their individual and communal values. The University's Community Involvement and Action Center (CIAC) offers both campus-based service opportunities as well as connections to over 200 local service partners for students to pursue their own service insterests. We also offer local and national alternative (service-oriented) break programs, both through SSSJ and through individual student clubs. University Chaplain and Director of SSSJ: Rev.
